Great outdoor food after a nice hike! We had barbecued smoked flavored King salmon with chili with reindeer sausage, and other fixings. Friendly staff too.

The panning was fun but, not very long. It was raining and cold. The bake is outdoor but they have heaters to dry out any damp clothing. The food was good. I especially liked the brown sugar coated Salmon, the rest of the food was okay. All in all a good time.

The food was delicious and the experience was fun! There is a creek along the property that you can walk and see where salmon return to spawn. Glad we did this as one of our excursions!

This was so much fun. The salmon was incredible and so was the chowder. We also got to toast marshmallows over a campfire and trek to the waterfalls.

Great way to see life style and nature with the experience of eating outdoors with the beauty of nature around you and the cutural food of the region. I was there when it was warm and not in winter. From Louisiana, enjoyed the beauty of the land, sampling foods of another culture and appreciating the ways of life in different parts of our world.

This was one of the BEST parts of our trip to Juneau. The food was delicious (grilled salmon with a finger lickin' glaze, home made clam chowder)the staff was friendly. Everyone treated us as if we were FAMILY. If I am ever in Juneau, Alaska again I would definitely add this to my itinerary again.

Good food, beautiful setting. Our favorite excursion. Plentiful hot fresh food, clean and not too crowded. Loved the campfire and marshmallows.

Wow what a surprise! Even greeted is with the much needed umbrellas for exploring the area after a great dinner. Covered eating area and fire ring for snores.

Salmon bake excursion was awesome. Side note, take a little walk behind the shop. There's some beautiful waterfalls and a little mine. Delicious salmon and cider.

Very nice and unusual venue. All the food was really good and the salmon was AWESOME. Also enjoyed the live music. A truly pleasant experience.

Some of the worst salmon I have ever had. Everything tasted very bland; the best thing there was the potato salad. Seats where almost under table and where very unconformable. Seemed very understaffed, had to wait 5 min for bartender to finish conversation to be able to get cold clam chowder. Only thing that was good is that the attraction/live music.

This was our last stop on an excursion in Juneau. The food was delicious. The tables were under tents with several heaters scattered around. When we were finished eating, we took a walk to the creek to pan for gold on our own. That part was ok, but the walk was short and pretty. When we were finished, the bus took us into town.

Atmosphere is absolutely amazing and the whole concept was different from any place I've been in a long time. The food was all good. Not a fan of not a fan of the sweet glaze on the salmon but everyone else seem to like it.

The food was good. The eating is what you are there for eating outdoors at picnic tables. I think it is a little high price for just a meal but the salmon was good. They baked it on an open fire. They have a water falls for pictures.

Such a cool experience and amazing food. Everyone was friendly. It was a beautiful, seemingly magical setting. If I could rate more stars, I would. Nice, short trail through the woods to a waterfall after eating. Gift shop. Clean bathroom.

Very beautiful grounds. Enjoyable entertainment. However, the food was mediocre at best. I suspect that my husband was sick as a result of the chowder.

Although my friend and I were slightly on a budget for our cruise/excursions, (thus, we leaned toward the more inexpensive excursions) we still had a wonderful time at the salmon bake! Its a short bus ride away from the port, and was not too crowded when we arrived (though, more buses came later on). They offered beers and other alcoholic drinks (not included in the price), a long buffet line of sides and other foods, freshly grilled salmon, and desserts. The food was amazing! We loved the ambiance, cozy fires, and nearby river. We walked up the path to a gold panning area and small waterfall. They also had a gift shop with connected restrooms that were very clean! Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend to others, especially larger groups looking for great food!

The proximity to Juneau, the restful, verdant setting, the rewarding spawning creek and falls walk, and the salmon bake. IMHO, It's all good. Maybe more so. Tip: don't fill up on the delicious sides, especially the heavenly chowder. Save more room for a helping, or two, of the alder-grilled salmon. OMG! Repeat. Save room.

Great food great music, nice waterfall after a short hike, we found gold in the included gold panning. The driver who took us back to the ship took us on a route that was brimming with eagles! He was the son of a chieftain and he gifted us many of his stories.

This is our second visit here in 10 years! The salmon is cooked perfectly. The place has gotten better, so would recommend this to all those cruising and to those who aren't too!

Basic but good food. Chowder was canned but rest seemed fresh. I went as part of excursion. Went later in afternoon. Had marshmallow roast too. After, make sure to follow trail out back to abandoned mine and a nice waterfall. Also, a gold panning station. I found a tiny nugget (free).

Overrated, overly expensive. Though it does offer a waterfall, the food is acceptable but nothing great, certainly not at the prices they command.

Salmon bake, honey glazed, toasted marshmallows over the fire. Waiting for the shuttle to head back kind of sucks. The driver on the way back was entertaining though.

Omg! My favorite excursion! What a beautiful property. The water fountain and seeing the salmon was AMAZING! We loved the marshmallow roasting and the fantastic meal. We also did the panning for gold part too which was equally fun! This tour is a must do on your trip to Juneau!

The salmon was very tasty, but the sweet sauce they put over it was amazing. The area is protected and quaint. As you eat, you sit in protected tents, enjoying the outdoors but staying dry. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this salmon bake.

Food was good but the gold mine portion was definitely not thought out well. No particular person trained to cover that part of the experience so it was pretty disappointing. Not sure if it was worth the money....

Loved everything about this excursion in Juneau, Alaska. Our bus driver was cool and informative. The food, especially the salmon, was fantastic. The music was great (local Alaskan playing guitar). The little gift shop had several things that I was wanting to get. Hubby went and saw the waterfall while I was at the gift shop. Definitely a good way to end our day here in Juneau.

A terrific experience! Outdoor venue with plenty of seating - grilling salmon and a buffet of all you can eat on top of that! Great for families! Walk way back in the woods to the waterfalls and see the old mining equipment from the Gold Rush Days! Be sure to get a great souvenir - a t-shirt or magnet! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: I am sitting here in Texas wishing I had a bite of that flamed grilled salmon! DELICIOUS!! Gotta get back to Gold Creek and EAT!! LOVED IT

What a nice surprise! We were not expecting it to be set up so nicely, like an outdoor wedding. White tents, lots of food choices (salad, chicken, coleslaw, cornbread, rice, beans, blueberry cake and of course salmon), and outdoor heaters. The staff were very helpful and everything was delicious!

Questions & Answers

Yes, that will be enough time to get there for your reservation. Ensure you taste their sauce for the salmon.

Public buses go right past there from glacier, just let bus drivers know where you need to get off. They are good about stuff like that. Can also take taxi, Uber, stick your thumb out.

Yes, call them

Absolutely! We took a tour that consisted of both the Mendenhall glacier and then the salmon bake afterwards. It's a great cookout. Be sure to follow the path to the end where the waterfall is at and abandoned mine.

You can probably buy your excursion at the pier. There are busses running regularly.

1 part butter, 4 parts brown sugar, and a bit of lemon juice to taste. Melt the butter, mix in the sugar (low heat), and then the lemon juice.

I found some. About $7 worth. Lol. Its not a lot, but if you've never done it before it is very interesting. They gave us about 20-30 minutes. But it is also a tour with lots of interesting info.

Yes, you can go as individuals. I'd give it a 7 out of 10, though.

Yes, they take reservations for individual tourist and groups.
